At Pilates Power Center we have a full complement of Pilates Apparatus in our class room. Our classes have four levels, from beginning to advanced. You can start at your current level of experience. Our classes are Reformer based and we also use EXO Chairs, Springboards, Pilates Suspension trainers and small props such as the Pilates Arc, Magic Circle and small balls to give you a comprehensive Pilates experience in our spacious class room. There is a maximum of five students per class, providing you with the personal instruction you need. This will ensure you are performing each exercises with proper form and alignment to help you along your Pilates journey. All of our class teachers are highly skilled Pilates Instructors with many years of experience. Some formats may not be offered at this time. See class descriptions below:
Pilates Mixed Apparatus 1: ESSENTIALS (Beginning)
This is where clients new to Pilates, and with no special needs, can begin their journey at our studio. This level will teach you all the Pilates principles to build a solid movement foundation. Essential mat and equipment exercises are introduced to help you master the basics of Pilates with attention to detail. This level will help you build a foundation of core strength, gain over all strength and flexibility and improve your balance. Modifications are offered for all exercises. This level is also appropriate for those with osteoporosis, before joining the Pilates STRONG class. We ask those with special needs or issues to begin with private training.
Pilates Mixed Apparatus 2: PROGRESSION (Beginning/Intermediate)
Students can progress to this level after attending the ESSENTIALS Level for a minimum of 8-12 classes. The foundation exercises are augmented with additional beginning to intermediate classical and contemporary exercises. You will continue to build core strength as well as increase your flexibility, balance, strength and endurance. Modifications and progressions are included. This level starts to move with a moderate class flow as you to continue on your Pilates journey.
Pilates Mixed Apparatus 3: INTERMEDIATE APPARATUS FLOW (Intermediate)
Students can progress to this level after mastering the PROGRESSION level exercises with the recommendation of your instructor. This is an intermediate level providing quicker transitions and a faster flow from one exercise to the next and one piece of apparatus to the next. Classes use increased resistance, repetition, coordination, and balance challenges using both classical and contemporary Pilates’ intermediate repertoire. Selected advanced exercises are introduced at this level.
Pilates Mixed Apparatus 4: PILATES POWER CHALLENGE (Skilled Intermediate/Advanced)
This class is for advanced students only, with the skill, strength, and endurance needed to perform all intermediate and advanced Pilates exercises with proper form and alignment on all equipment. Both contemporary and classical exercises are included in a fast paced flow to challenge our most advanced students. Mastery of INTERMEDIATE level exercises is required to attend this level with your instructor’s recommendation.
Pilates Suspension Method Foundation Class (Level 1)
Level 1 will introduce you to the foundation exercises of the Pilates Suspension Method (PSM). PSM takes traditional and contemporary Pilates equipment and mat exercises and takes them to the TRX suspension trainer to improve your core and overall body strength. Each PSM exercise has a Pilates root exercise and is done in many of the traditional Pilates series. Pilates Suspension Method classes will help you improve your Pilates Apparatus class technique!
Mixed Apparatus Circuit
Need some variety in your Pilates workouts? Then this class if for you! This is fun and fast paced total body Pilates workout. Mixed Apparatus Circuit has tons of variety, incorporating all of our equipment in the group room. Students will warm up together and then rotate individually, circuit style, through timed stations which can include Reformer, Jump board, EXO Chair, Springboard, Bodhi Suspension, Pilates Arcs, BOSU, Trapeze Table and Mat exercises.
Get Pilates STRONG: Strength Training Redesigned for Osteoporosis, Nurturing Gains. This is a full body exercise system, designed by Paula Anderson, MS, using all of our Pilates apparatus to help students safely build muscular strength, endurance and flexibility. Pilates S.T.R.O.N.G. will focus on optimizing the health and safety of your bones as well as improving posture and balance. We will also include tips to help keep you safer in your activities of daily living. This class is for everyone over the age of 50 and those dealing with osteopenia and osteoporosis.
All classes are designed for healthy individuals. We recommend private training for those with acute/chronic injuries or special needs. Thank you!
